GETTING TO HALKI
By Air
Rhodes island has its own international airport (Diagoras) with
direct flights to London, Manchester and several other regional airports in the UK
during the tourist season. It also has direct flights to many other
European cities during the summer months.
In addition there are several flights each day between Rhodes and
Athens, and daily flights to Thessaloniki, Heraklion (Crete) and
some other Greek islands.
A taxi from the airport down the coastal road to Kamiros Skala will
take half an hour and cost approximately €40-50 . At the harbour
side there are several restaurants in which to have a refreshing
drink or a meal while waiting for the ferry. Fresh fish is a
speciality offered here.
There are two local ferries which together run a service between
Halki and Kamiros Skala. They are the Nikos Express and the Nissos
Halki. The journey time is 1 hour and 15 minutes and it will cost
approximately €10.
If you are travelling from the UK by plane on a Wednesday it is wise
to aim at arriving in Rhodes by about 3.00pm. This means that you
will be in good time to catch the late afternoon ferry from Kamiros
Skala. Later flight arrivals may mean spending a night on Rhodes.

By Ferry from Athens (Piraeus Port)
The Greek shipping company ANEK LINES runs a ferry service from
Piraeus to Rhodes which stops at Halki. This large ferry, which has
cabins, restaurants and bars, stops at Milos, Crete, Kassos and
Karpathos on its way south. The time of the journey from Piraeus to Halki is about 22
hours, which may be rather a large chunk out of your holiday, but an
adventure for those with time to spare.
Dodekanisos Seaways also run fast and efficient catamaran services
between Rhodes and other islands in the Dodecanese, some of which
stop at Halki.
Blue Star Ferries also run a fast service from Piraeus down to
Rhodes which only takes 12 hours. This journey can be made overnight
in the comfort of a cabin!
Arrival in Halki
However you choose to make your journey, upon arrival in Halki you
will be met by Yorgos himself or one of his family who will take
care of transporting your luggage and escort you to Villa Yorgos to
begin your holiday!
